Agar Wood Oud
Agar wood oud — often written agarwood or oud — is the resinous heartwood formed when Aquilaria trees respond to fungal stress. The scent spans dry leather, smoky wood, sweet balsam and animalic warmth depending on origin and treatment. In fine fragrance it anchors oriental and woody bases with lasting presence. Worn well it feels precious and intimate rather than loud: a dark timber glow that rewards patience as top notes fade and the resin takes the stage.
