Agarwood (Assam)
Assam agarwood refers to oud-bearing wood associated with the Assam region of India — often denser and more resinous than lighter Southeast Asian profiles. Expect darker wood, soft smoke and a balsamic sweetness that sits close to skin. In perfume it pairs beautifully with sandalwood and amber, giving oriental compositions a grounded Indian-subcontinent warmth. It is less barnyard than some Middle Eastern ouds and more contemplative — evening wood for wearers who want depth without aggressive projection.
