Aldehydes

Aldehydes

Aldehydes are aroma chemicals that can smell soapy, waxy, citrus-bright or metallic depending on chain length. In classic French perfumery they create that sparkling 'morning mist' over florals — champagne fizz rather than flower juice. Used with restraint they lift a composition; overdone they read detergent-clean. On skin they flash quickly then settle, leaving space for the heart to bloom. Ideal for glamorous openings that feel luminous, powdery and slightly abstract rather than botanical.
