Artemesia
Artemesia (often aligned with artemisia / wormwood relatives) brings a bitter green, slightly medicinal herbality to perfume. It sharpens fougère hearts and keeps sweet bases honest — think absinthe edge and dry meadow rather than soft lavender alone. In English fern styles it adds vintage aromatic bite. On skin it feels cool and adult: not floral, not fruity, but herbal and clarifying. Use it when green should have attitude — a tonic note for compositions that might otherwise turn soapy or mild.
