Cistus
Cistus (rock rose) yields labdanum-related resins that smell sun-baked, ambery and slightly leathery — Mediterranean scrub in heat. It deepens rose and chypre bases with honeyed dryness. On skin cistus is persistent and warm. Choose it when florals need earth and resin: Epic Rose territory and leather compositions that should recall warm stone and wild roses rather than soft powder alone. Clear character with a lasting fine-fragrance trail on skin.
