Civet
Civet historically came from animal musk; modern perfume uses ethical reconstitutions that keep the warm, animalic-floral funk in tiny doses. Used well it gives leather and oriental bases a living skin glow; overdone it turns harsh. On skin civet is a fixative whisper more than a solo note. Seek it in classical leather contexts — Spanish Leather depth where hide and flower need a pulse of warmth beneath spice and resin.
